Possibility Thinking

Have you tried it?

Think about something you would love that just seems too challenging and too far out of reach….. Something you’d love but can’t see how you can make it happen.

Then get a piece of paper and pen and play with it. Think about ways you ‘could’ do it, what resources you have, what or who you could call on, or call in…

If you’re a writing person write it out and let the ideas flow, if you think in pictures then draw. It doesn’t matter how, just keep playing.

I like to crunch numbers (really!), so if it’s something where money is involved I crunch numbers, what do I need? how does that break down? how could I do it?

So I do this and I write, as I like to write too, and I find it brings out ideas once you get in the flow.

And it really does boost your attitude and move you from “I want it but I really can’t see any way…” to “I really can do this”

Dreams become do-able in short, and once you have that belief, well then you just need to go out and take action! 🙂

Let me know how you get on, and what you start creating.

Wednesday Inspiration

A lovely poem to share today What is your response?

– Mary Oliver

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean –
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down –
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

Wednesday Words of Wisdom

\More food for thought this Wednesday

“You have to find something that you love enough to be able to take risks, jump over the hurdles and break through the brick walls that are always going to be placed in front of you. If you don’t have that kind of feeling for what it is you’re doing, you’ll stop at the first giant hurdle.”

– George Lucas

An interesting and valid viewpoint I think. Are you doing something that inspires you and excites you? Do you wake full of ideas and plans for what you can do next?

Do you feel your business is worth taking risks for or are you overly cautious?

You are much more likely to push through the barriers and hiccups on the road if you love what you do and are having lots of fun, and you totally believe in it

” I radiate and attract whatever I choose to accept. I now choose to accept the highest and best in life. I now choose and receive the best health, success and happiness. I now choose to accept lavish abundance for myself and all. This is a rich friendly Universe and I choose to accept its riches, hospitality and enjoy them now.”
Catherine Ponder

This is a great quote. We all have a choice about what we do, how we live, how we deal with situations. We get to choose everything about our lives.

And I know some of you will be saying “yes but…” or “but what about…” at this point. It’s worth considering that whatever happens, you can choose how you respond to it, and how you respond will determine where you go in life.

Are going to choose to accept the things you don’t like? Or are you going to go out and find something better?

Will you choose to be happy when you get up in the morning?

10 Ways To Find Inspiration

TFind Inspirationhis list was originally published in a previous newsletter of mine, but I think its worth sharing again.

Here are ten suggestions for finding inspiration when you’re feeling stuck.

If your head seems full of cobwebs and your can’t think straight, go for an aimless walk. A rhythmic pace helps
you to enter a state of flow and allows solutions to surface – quite literally, a breath of fresh air.

Whether it’s a museum, park or concert, indulge in something you love which will open your mind to creativity. Make the most of your self-employed status and go mid-week when there are no crowds.

When you read something in a magazine or book that inspires you or makes your think, cut it out or write it down. Keep clippings and notebooks in a ‘inspiration’ file so that when you’re feeling down or stuck, you can dip in at will.

An older, more experienced peer will have been in a similar situation to yours before, so if you’re really stuck on an idea, talk it over with a mentor or good friend and get a second opinion. To find a mentor, try asking your contacts or your industry association.

Be proactive by doing a chore that’s been nagging you for ages – whether it’s sorting through piles of receipts
or clearing out your filing cabinets. It will make you feel organised and clear your head for other tasks.

Help someone else who needs advice, whether work-related or otherwise. It’s easier to see a solution for other people’s problems and in doing so you activate the problem-solving part of the brain.

Read a biography or watch a programme about someone who has succeeded against the odds, whether it’s a sporting hero or a software millionaire. It’ll inspire you to similar heights.

Write your five-year plan in reverse: think about where you want to be and work backwards to the present to find your next step.

Talk to people outside your social and professional spheres, whether it’s your partner’s friend or your neighbour. They may have things to say that could challenge your preconceptions and offer fresh perspectives.

Hit the mattress in the middle of the day with your loved one. Apparently scientists have proved that adrenaline and seratonin – which can promote inspiration – increase sharply during, and remain high after, lovemaking. Best excuse yet.

(Disclaimer – I didn’t write this list 😉 )

Day Dreaming…

Day dreaming is productive, visualising helps create what you wantDo you dream about what you want in your life? About the house you’d like to have or the car you crave? Do you daydream about living in the sun or by the beach or not having to work any more?

Well if that’s you the good news is that it’s a good thing to be doing. In fact it’s a great thing to be doing.
The first step to creating what you really want in life is to imagine it, see it in your head, visualise how you want things to be.

So go on, get dreaming. Do it in some serious detail, put yourself in the picture and imagine how you feel, what are your senses telling you? What can you see, hear, smell and touch? The more real you can make it the better.

What you are doing is sending messages to your brain that this is how your life is going to be, so your subconscious can get to work in moving in that direction.

And of course this applies in your business as much as anywhere

“If you can DREAM it, you can DO it.” – Walt Disney

“Don’t be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so.” – Belva Davis

Wednesday Words of Wisdom

This weeks wise words were originally shared by Neale Donald Walsch.

It is only This Moment that counts, This Moment that matters. Dwelling on anything else is pointless.

Yesterday is gone, if not forgotten, and tomorrow is not yet here, so why waste precious time and mental energy focused on either?

What is going on right now? That is the question. And what can you do Right Now to make Now better? Make each Now better and the future will take care of itself, while the past will not matter.

Coming across this mindset being expressed more and more these days. And it is very powerful. We waste far too much energy worrying about what’s long gone or what might be. I know I have done, though I’m definitely learning to leave it all alone. And I can vouch for life being easier when you do, if you don’t give something attention it has no energy and soon disappears off the radar. 🙂

Wednesday Words of Wisdom

Sharing a very well known poem with you this week, made famous by Nelson Mandela who used it to keep him strong when he was in prison. And also brought to the fore by the film of the same name.

The last paragraph is the most powerful.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley (1849–1903)

Wednesday Words of Wisdom

This week here are some words which are well worth reading and digesting, attributed to Charlie Chaplin on his 70th birthday:

As I Began to Love Myself

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth.

Today, I know, this is “AUTHENTICITY“.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody as I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me.

Today I call it “RESPECT“.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.

Today I call it “MATURITY“.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment, so I could be calm.

Today I call it “SELF-CONFIDENCE“.

As I began to love myself I quit stealing my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future. Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.

Today I call it “SIMPLICITY“.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything the drew me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude a healthy egoism.

Today I know it is “LOVE OF ONESELF“.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since I was wrong less of the time.
Today I discovered that is “MODESTY“.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING is happening.

Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it “FULFILLMENT“.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my mind became a valuable ally.

Today I call this connection “WISDOM OF THE HEART“.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others. Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born.

Today I know THAT IS “LIFE“!

Do You Deserve A VIP Vision Day? Competition Time!

Get thsoe ideas and visions on paperOne of the things that has come to me as I was looking at what I wanted to do this year is to offer a VIP Vision Day on me.

Most of the ladies I work with are keen and focused and wanting to move forward with their business, they enjoy sharing experiences, learning and having fun, even so I know you may be at the early stages of your business and are reluctant to invest much when you are not yet quite clear what is happening and how fast things will take off.

Or maybe you kind of know what you want to create but just feel you’re drifting around as you’re not quite clear enough.

I understand this can be a challenge, you want to invest in yourself and your business yet you are running a tight ship. So I have decided to offer a VIP Vision Day on scholarship to one lucky lady. This is normally $1200, so a fabulous saving.

To decide who this will be I am asking you to submit a short video or brief written proposal telling me why I should pick you.

All you have to do is submit your video or written proposal to jm [at] authenticedge . co . uk by 21 January.

What exactly is the VIP Vision Day?
In brief it is a day spent 121 (virtually) with me where we focus entirely on your goals and your vision for your business. And not just what you think it should be, what you really truly want. Because it is so much easier to plan everything else and even set up the structures of your business when you know exactly what you want to achieve.

We will work through a number of exercises, some together, some you will do on your own. Some are practical, some more intuitive. We will aim at the end of the day to come up with a few statements that summarize exactly what you really want to achieve in and with your business. Your heart centered vision.

From there you have something to build on and something to work towards and probably also some idea of who you would like to be in the process and who you would love to serve.

Whether you really want to work out what your big vision is, or you generally know and just want some clarity this day can help you brush away the doubts, get really focused and be ready to leap forward.

Last time I did a competition for a VIP Day, the lady concerned not only got clarity on her vision and reassurance about who she wanted to work with, she also picked up a new client and a new referral partner within three days!

Wednesday Wisdom

A few words of wisdom on this Wednesday for you:

“One enlightened thought can change your whole day. One thought of appreciation, joy or blessings can change your whole internal state. One enlightened thought can turn a half empty glass into a half full glass, a challenge into an opportunity, and a stranger into a friend. One enlightened thought can open your heart and clear your vision of the future. So why not think one, just one, go on!”

Are YOU A Fascinating Female Entrepreneur?

Talk about your business, calling all female entrepreneursOne of the things that became clear to me when I was reviewing last year and setting my intentions for 2014 was that I wanted to talk to more female entrepreneurs.

As well as regular coaching, I have done quite a few Business Strategy Sessions with women entrepreneurs and I always enjoy hearing about their business and their journey.

Sometimes it leads to us deciding to work together, sometimes its just a good conversation. It doesn’t really matter, either way I enjoy the chat and I can still support them and give some suggestions for next steps.

So I have decided to create a slot where I can chat to other female entrepreneurs and find out about their business. And hopefully I can also give a few pointers to take them forward as well.

I am also looking at doing some interviews with female entrepreneurs, particularly those who are following their heart in their business and using things like intuition as business tools.

So watch this space for more information as these ideas develop, and if you feel interested in either a chat to me and some guidance for your business, or taking part in an interview then please let me know directly.

I am looking forward to this, I think it will get quite exciting!

If you would like to schedule a Strategy Session just send an email to ss @ ae8.biz to arrange a complimentary chat.
